Aster Care will be closed on the following holidays. If a holiday falls on a weekend, closure will shift to the nearest weekday, with notice given in advance.
Paid Holidays (if scheduled for care):

We are closed on Memorial Day to honor the brave men and women who sacrificed for the nation. Families get to enjoy a long weekend together, while staff and children take time to rest and reflect. This closure allows everyone to pause and appreciate the meaning of the day.

On Independence Day, Aster Care remains closed so families can celebrate the nation’s freedom. It is a time for gatherings, traditions, and community festivities. Children enjoy a joyful and safe holiday with their loved ones.

We close on Labor Day in recognition of hardworking individuals everywhere. This day gives families and staff a chance to relax and recharge. Many choose to enjoy outings, picnics, or leisure activities together.

During Diwali, the festival of lights, we remain closed to honor cultural traditions. Families celebrate with joy, togetherness, and festive spirit. It is a time to embrace happiness and share light with loved ones.

We are closed on Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday to allow families to celebrate gratitude. This long weekend is perfect for travel, family bonding, and festive gatherings. It provides a meaningful pause before the holiday season.

Aster Care closes for Christmas Vacation to celebrate the joy of the holiday season. Families spend quality time together, embracing traditions and celebrations. Children enjoy festivities, gifts, and the warmth of togetherness.

On New Year’s Day, we close to welcome the beginning of a fresh year. Families use this time to reflect, celebrate, and start anew. Staff return re-energized and ready for the year ahead.

We schedule one Professional Development Day for staff training and growth. This time is dedicated to improving skills and enhancing the quality of childcare. Families benefit as staff return with new knowledge and strategies.

Staff are given three personal or sick days for health or urgent needs. These days may be used for emergencies or with advance notice. They ensure staff well-being while maintaining smooth daily operations.
Unpaid Closures:

Every year, Aster Care closes for the last two weeks of August for summer break. Families can plan vacations or special activities for their children during this time. Staff use the break to refresh and prepare for the upcoming school year.
Additional Notes: Payment is required for snow days and emergency closures (e.g., no electricity or hot water). Delayed openings may occur in line with Acton-Boxborough school delays.
